Looks like mouse multi-touch is going to be a significant part of Mac OS 10.7. Does anyone know of any third-party Mac compatible mouse that will handle these commands?

So I haven't bought anything in a while, and have been thinking recently what could I buy to improve my life/work etc. I have the products listed in my signature; iPhone 3G, MBP 13", 16GB iPod Touch, Second Gen Nano...
I'm just looking for your opinions as to what you think would be a good buy atm. Like an accessory or something similar. Budget would probably be up to 80-100 at most.
Thanks.

Today I got my first Mac, a Powermac G4. It has no DVD drive so I installed one from an old PC. The computer recognizes the drive and will play CDs from it, but it cannot read DVDs.
Is there an update that I can install to allow my G4 to read DVDs?
running OS X 10.3.9
trying to use Asus 16X max DVD-ROM
Thanks.
Not sure as i've never done that, however... there is a program called "Patchburn" which may be able to help you, try it and let us know what happens.
Goto http://www.patchburn.de/
Then download read the instructions and install.
Thanks

Great, glad you'll be able to get going. It's back to pet sitting for my iPod-seeking daughter, then. :-)

I'm waiting on one too. I'm just using a 30" that I picked up off craigslist yesterday for now.

I just tried and OS X would not allow me to change the file anyway
That's just because the permissions on it are locked. You could easily unlock them.

For your text ( #membershipcontent ), remove the "position: relative" and/or "left: 285px"
Think of relative positioning as a "nudge" -- the browser does most of the rendering and then moves any elements relatively positioned by the number of pixels you tell it. In your case, 285px on the left which bumps it to the right.

Why isit that you will skip vga?
VGA is outdated, and DVI/HDMI are better equipped to handle higher resolutions. VGA is an analog signal. HDMI is a digital signal. There is much greater risk for signal degradation, particularly with a long cable, with VGA than HDMI.

Nice :-)
IMHO, Panther was the first real 100% usable Mac OS X version, not just for at home, but at the office too.

Hey guys,
I've read a bunch of threads on hard drive setups but found few that mirrored my situation and most were pretty complex for my needs. Currently looking at a 2010 MP 2.8 Quad/12GB OWC RAM (it will be my first desktop Mac).
What hard drive setup would you recommend?
I do print/web design (CS5) and would like to get into some Final Cut pretty soon. I also have lots of media files (music, movies, tv shows) that I add to regularly.
I have my heart set on an OWC 115GB SSD for OSX/apps... the rest will be 1 or 2TB WD drives (black or green) for data, scratch, storage... I'd also like a trusty, simple backup solution.
Optical or #1 for SSD: ?
#2: ?
#3: ?
#4: ?
Please advise... thanks in advance!!! :D

I dedicate 7CPUS at 100% all the time in 10.5.5 (none of that background malarkey) ;) - I keep one CPU for OS and stuff and only shut Seti off when I need more horsepower

What do you use your Mini for?
You might be better off waiting to see what Apple releases later this year.
not even later like soon probably they're due any time i think

Hi,
I am just wondering if others out there are having this issue. I can't see my gpu load or temp in atMonitor. AtMonitor shows my vram load but not the other settings. I was trying to get a sense of how taxed it was under a Maya Render and am now wondering if this is normal or perhaps an issue (minor) with my machine.
I am running a Mac Pro 5,1 quad Core with 8 gigs of ram and a ATI 5770 using 10.6.7.
Thanks

Another thing you could do would be to cut out some frames. You don't need such a long progression of numbers; we get the idea. The best part is the crash screen at the end. So speed up the number sequence and you should be able to get it down to 30 k.

Yes its a fresh install and it goes completely away once Reeder closes (after about 1 min though)
Reeder for the Mac is still in beta right? I know iPhone/iPad versions are current. I guess just file a report with Apple.

Apple employee just counted 70 in line right now. Her comment was "pretty impressive for still having 4 hours to go".

Well, since ADC members aren't getting it early ... looks like I will be standing inline. I am sending my GF down an hour before I get off work, so I will be there around 4pm-ish.

My wife is the family photographer. From Friday to this morning, we downloaded another 761 pictures. That's a normal weekend. Consequently, her iPhoto library has grown to approx 450 GB. I'm finding that hard to manage and also finding that my ATV2 can't seem to load her pictures for a slide show anymore... I assume her library is just too dang big.
Any suggestions?
