So I've searched and have failed to find a simple solution here.
I've tried the redsnow method with 4.2.6 but Cydia opens up then crashes instantly. I've tried 5 times and had to restore every time.
Is there another method on the way or present already?!?! Thanks!
I used greenpoison for my iphone, but I'm on PC. Looks like they have a Mac version.

Long story short, a friend of the family passed and left us all of his video gear. The v1u is a pretty high end camera and has several family videos we want to transfer to my Mac before we eBay the camera since it's just a little much for us to shoot stuff around the house.
I have cs4 on my iMac and wondered the best way to transfer the video from the digital tapes and either edit in cs4 or handbrake to apple tv format?

Sounds like the wifi chip was ready to die and on its last leg.
Deactivating the sim had nothing to do with it, just happened around the same time.
so when it worked was just a fluke? :(
Is there any way to get it fixed for cheap? I wanted to give this phone to my sis overseas.

Hi,
Could someone tell me how I can change the way the display name is shown when someone calls me. I have seen pictures and usually the name is shown on the top of the screen and the full picture as the wallpaper. However on my phone the name is displayed in a text box that pops up in the middle which covers the picture. Having the text box in the middle is different from what I have seen on other iphones. Is there a way to set this or is something wrong?

Have you tried applying a screen shield like SGP or Powersupport with water?
It should make it much easier to align and also eliminate all the bubbles or dust, InvisibleShield is applied with water, why shouldn't a normal one work?... Still it's better to ask though.
I have definitely heard of people using water for dry application screen shields. I have never done it myself as I seem to get them on perfect each time :confused: Not sure how though!

i found out u can install an ipad on a car, but i want to know if you can just use a usb cable to connect to it. but i dont think its not as simple just plugging in a usb cable

I'd rather see an open ended 2D version that utilizes both screens, like Yoshi's Island, and has many moves and animation frames. If the stylus is mandatory then I think I'll pass on this one.

I'm sure there are other topics about this but I've been searching all night and nobody else seems to have the same symptoms.
My MacBook earlier today was working fine, and I left the room. When I came back, it was off. So I restarted, and it went to the white screen with the folder and question mark.
Now, it only restarts to the white screen (right past the sound).
Resetting pram/nvram didn't help, and trying to boot from either a DVD or USB doesn't work. When I hold option down, I get a cursor (which is moveable), but absolutely nothing else.
I tried replacing the hard drive with another one I had, and it does the exact same thing. Plus, I've never heard clicking - and it still isn't clicking.
I wanted to replace the ram, but my ram is incompatible so I can't.
Any ideas what may be causing this? My gut says it's a logic board failure, but that'd be a shame since it's only 16 months old.

If it won't even boot from the install DVD it is most likely a logic board failure of some sort. If you have an apple store near you, I'd bring it over there, I believe the diagnosis is free.

Hit the home button, go to settings and turn off notifications. Let us know how it works out.

I'm pretty sure the PS3 can only read fat32 formatted hard drives. So most of the externals we use with Mac are not formatted for the PS3 to read.

Macaroni will also do this, as well as ensure the cron scripts (daily, weekly and monthly maintenence routines your Mac runs in the early hours of the morning) are run should your Mac not be on overnight.
It's not free but does have a demo / trial period so you can see if you like using it.

It'll be sent to you with the 1.1.4 firmware completely jailbroken and unlocked with all of its original accessories (the headphones are brand new and unused).
Included with this is a 3 year extended warranty from SquareTrade (http://www.squaretrade.com/) that even includes accidental damage (ie spills, drops, etc).
Also included is I can laser etch any image that you wish onto the back of the iPhone prior to shipping it to you. Send me an image and I'll slap it on the iPhone and then send it on its merry way to you.

How long would a new iBook last? Are Pentium M's (future for iBook) a lot better than the 1.33 Ghz G4s? How are they better? How long would it take for a complete transition( no bugs and all apps on Intel)? I ask these questions because I will NEED my own laptop in around 10, and 11 but I WANT one now. Should I wait a few years for the "better" Intels or buy one now and it will last me.
