And what will you do if Apple releases iPhone in, say, seven colors?
LOL, I'll pick the best color of course! :D

The fact is, we've been through this before. The iPhone 1 was going to be a huge failure because it didn't have 3G. They were concerned about coverage and battery life. It's the same issue now.
People are saying apple should make those sacrifices now to keep up with technology. But nobody is addressing the fact that apple has historical evidence that this is a sound approach.
So many people just love to see every issue from the Apple perspective. There are people who get paid for that. Should not you - as a consumer - care more about the gadget you want than Apple success?
Using two separate chips eats battery life. Not to mention LTE is still "just" coming out, so it won't be widespread enough to take advantage of it until 2012 anyway.
Apple does not have to use two chips. They could just design separate phone for Verizon (just like iPhone 4) which does not support GSM. Not ideal but that's where technology is today. At least Verizon customers could enjoy iPhone 5 with LTE.

Interesting view.
It is true that Society seems to own each and every one of us, as soon as we are conceived.
Keep that nose to the grind-stone, and work till you die.
Oh, and no suicide attempts, please. We own your body, and we'll tell you when we are finished with it.

More Sheen madness. Just slightly alarming.

I wonder if they found anything?? ;) Meow.

I am not too keen on this "cartoony" 3D effect Apple seem to be going for.
Torn off pages faux-leather binding I mean doesn't anyone else think it is a bit corny?
It really does seems as if the cutesyeness of the iOS is spreading over to OSX.
I'd prefer a clean modern OS with usability first and foremost.
Screw the gratuitous eyecandy
Remind anyone of OS/2 and their cheesy waste-of-screen-realestate spiral binder stuff?
As a theming option, sure, cool, welcome to last decade Apple. If they're going to force these silly looks randomly per app, booo! But the Mac apps looking like iOS apps is inevitable.. in a few years they will probably all be 1 in the same.

Still sneaky of Apple to advertise it as the same thickness as the black one...
As long as we're on the topic of measuring millimeters, notice how the screen on the physical iPhone 3GS is slightly smaller than on box picture (as well as pictures used on Apple.com website).

I don't know if the same applies for iPhone 4.

Could someone clarify this for me: Aren't hard drives too slow to make use of Thunderbolt anyway? In a typical USB 2.0 external hard drive, what is the bottleneck in speed: The speed at which the hard drive spins, or the USB 2.0 connection? If it's the USB, then why do people even care about the RPM of a drive? If it's the RPM, then isn't USB 2.0 fast enough to run a hard drive at its native speed?
Look forward to thunderbolt hub. USB 3.0, esata and a DisplayPort daisy chain.
What he said. You can get adaptors for different things, plus daisy chain multiple devices together. One device may not be able to use the whole TB bandwidth, but if you add a bunch of accessories to the same port, it'll add up. Right now, the only single device that might be able to utilize the whole bandwidth would be a RAID array and other high-end stuff. But as SSDs come more common & speed up, we'll see TB being more useful. This definitely won't happen overnight, no matter how much some of us might hope.

I think we should preserve his body and burn it at the site of ground zero this 9/11! How's that for a 10 year anniversary celebration?
If you want to go that route, milk it for all it's worth. Preserve him, decorate him as a piata, and have anyone who wants take three whacks on primetime worldwide TV. Families of 9/11 victims get to be first in line.

C'mon, Opera has had the ability to save the open tabs for, what, 5-6 years? Safari is really so broken that they have to prompt to close the tabs instead of just saving the state so it can be brought back up next time it's launched?

You're well meaning Rodimus so I'll tone down my response. Do you not think it's a little misogynistic to suggest women stay under the protection of a man? I also don't think that clothing even makes all that much difference as a rapist would typically forcibly remove it anyway. I've been the victim of a few sexual assaults in the past and I wasn't dressed particularly noteworthily at the time. Though every time I go out clubbing I don't really wear much at all, yet have never had trouble walking back through leeds at 5AM.
Sorry was not trying to be too sexist there and not no they do not always need to be under the protection of a man.
It is more one of those depending on the area. Most areas it is not really a big deal but in others it would be a better idea. It is just one of many tools in a rather large inventor to help manage your risk profile.

Let me correct myself... I didn't mean to say occupy, I meant that we have troops in US bases in over 200 countries.
Interesting, considering there are only 194 recognized countries on Earth. Which planet are the other 6 countries located on?

What a sad post.
Nice deflection. You've been on the offensive out of the gate in this game. I don't know what your h*rd-on is for me this game, but apparently I appear a good victim in your eyes. You've played these games a long time, and are a very good player, you know exactly how to tweak things to your advantage and this unusual hardball manner you're playing this game is telling.
Game play aside, I hope you're okay- in the offline world.

Why do you keep comparing a single phone model to an entire platform used on 20 some devices?
Oh... that's right... it's all you can hang your hat on. Sorry... let's talk pummeled or badly beaten when any single Android phone outsells the iPhone.
Question should be, why does it matter how many android devices there are? There is still a one to one relationship, one customer buys-one device. Its android smartphones vs Apple Smartphones.

Record-breaking quarters and the position as the trend-setter in consumer tech.
These legal skirmishes haven't and won't result in any major untoward changes to Apple products. We all know this already.
I'm not disagreeing. I'm just disputing the idea that somehow the U.S. courts are biased towards Apple. Apple's court results don't indicate that.

Is the white iPhone being demoed in the retail stores? Surely someone can go there and compare also.

If you look really closely, you can see there is no difference. White stands out more than black, so really what you're seeing is the front face of the phone adding to the width because of this two dimensional perspective. The front face of black iPhone is visible too, it just isn't noticeable in front of that background. Look closely.

Some Apple patents are just "out there" and don't sound useful in practice. I never expect to see them in a product.
But THIS sounds actually very useful--the problem of whether a keyboard hogs the screen or not is solved, etc. etc.
Apple's hiring says they're serious about touch computing. For an iPod? For a Mac? And when? I can't wait to find out!
