So if the ULV HD3000 performs at 50% of MBP 13", and if IB speeds up the HD 3000 by 50% this will mean MBA IB HD 3000 will run @75% of the speed of 2011 MBP 13". So, I am actually quite right unless Intel develops a new IGP there is a thick chance people will bash on IB MBA, too.
I agree with you bump in processor speed won't be the key point to entice people to buy a SB MBA - there should be something more, either larger SSD storage for the same amount of money, or connectivity (TB) or better display, or better battery, or all of them. Providing incremental upgrade in speed is obviously not what the so called 'average user' need in an MBA - so many topics there are on the subject on MR.

I think this is a special case. This appears to be a "lite" version of Adobe Audition, which Adobe bought from Syntrillium Software (Syntrillium called it Cool Edit Pro).
Cool Edit Pro was built from the ground up for the Intel architecture. At that time, Intel Macs didn't exist. Since there was no pre-existing PPC compatible version, they have decided not to create one.
Don't worry too much. New Mac applications and updates for applications that already have PPC versions will probably be released as Universal Binaries for years to come.

I find it so ironic that caps are the norm now and companies seem to be adding streaming services daily. It's a freight train headed in the wrong direction...data overages are becoming more and more likely.
It's complete and total BS man. Then on their commercials that basically advertise "HEY YOU CAN STREAM NETFLIX FROM ANYWHERE!!!!", but then when you call and complain, they tell you that they don't recommend doing that. I hope that VZW does get the iPhone, offers a better or unlimited data plan and AT&T declares bankruptcy. That's what I hope.

I understand that trucks will do the most damage, but what I was just offering was that those gas taxes were originally designed for highway upkeep and that passenger cars with wildly different gas mileage should be inflicting similar amounts of damage.
Yes, I know heavier will mean more damage, but the inequitity of the tax based on fuel economy wouldn't (I think) even out the damage versus taxation level. My friend's 1970 1/2 Firebird (6 mpg) would not do more than 10 times the damage of a Prius, would it? More damage surely, but no way would it be 10 times (doubtful it would even be twice), yet the Prius would pay 10 times less for the 'right' of using the roads.
If taxation is designed to ween us from foreign oil and clean-up the atmosphere, then a gas tax is perfect. Otherwise, it needs to be based on miles driven somehow (perhaps along with a weight multiplier).

Let's stop for a moment and think about this without any knee jerk reaction against at&t.
The at&t network in New York City is not able to handle any additional network traffic. It makes sense due to the amount of users in such a small area.
What should at&t do?
I think it is reasonable to temporarily stop selling the iPhone considering the network in New York City. They can resume sales after the network has been upgraded to handle the additional traffic.
at&t has not sunk to a new low. They are finally taking responsibility for their network by not overloading it with any additional data heavy iPhone users.

Hopefully this will address the issues some users have seen with the Mac Pro apparently not being able to boot beyond a black screen when using the XP disc to boot from. Although I would think that is more an issue of GFX than firmware on the Mac Pro...maybe they're the same thing!
You can't boot XP from CD on a Mac. You can't you can't you can't. The Mac boots using EFI, which XP doesn't support.
You need to use Boot Camp to install it, as legacy BIOS emulation has to be loaded specifically for XP.

Well, the Xoom isn't tied to the carrier. Google uses it (currently, at least) as the reference device for their Honeycomb platform.
I think iPad 2 and iOS has advantages, but as an Apple supporter myself and user/dev owner, too, I think the hubris in this community is very dangerous.
The bigger they are, the higher they fly...you know how the saying goes. The U2 wasn't untouchable, and neither is the iPad 2. The sooner we get over this idea that there is an inherent superiority anything Apple, I really think the better off Apple and its products and the ecosystem actually will be!
Ever since Android was released on phones I have been hearing that it "is just a release or two away from being a great OS". The reality is that most Android devices are extremely lucky if they get one upgrade ported to them by their carrier. I'll stick with an iPad2 rather than buying something and hoping that it improves with time.

I was drawn to this forum because I am interested in computers generally and macs almost qualify.....but seriously I poked around on a mac for about an hour today, and found that some things are less intuitive (minimizing and closing windows). Also I found that some things easily accessible in windows are not accessible at all in mac OSX. I felt like the computer was "dumbed down" for me. All in all it was a computer and pefectly capable internet machine, but at least in an hour nothing even came close to winning me ove. Oh yeah it also crashed once too.

Once that's been settled and a few laughs have been made just ask some simple questions (how do you like working here, do you go to school, are you a psycho and etc). once you guys have a vibe goin on ask her/him if he/she is single. I was watching Bill Mahr last night and the conservative on his panel said that originally the Tea Bagger movement claimed to be about money, budget issues, taxes. But the PP show down over the federal budget shows that they also have a social agenda.
If they are truly worried about paying for welfare, you'd think they'd be thrilled if the low income families were popping out less babies by means of contraception...
People are a nation's greatest asset. Planned Parenthood should not be funded by the government, all incoming money goes into one pot and then distributed thus some money goes towards abortions.
