Sigh... Another post shot to Hell. I hate when the subtle implied meaning is missed for something far less obvious.
Saying that someone is "seeing through rose-colored glasses" means that they are an optimist, only seeing the good and neglecting to notice the bad. (The opposite type of person, a pessimist, is symbolised by the color grey). (http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rose_(color))

Yes you do lose rollover minutes when changing from one rate plan to another if yo have more rolloever than what is included in the new rate plan.

Not true.. I am the Art Director for a Art department that makes grocery store ads.
Soda is not a common loss leader since it's DSD Pepsi/Coke keep close price controls.
I usually see produce and meat used as loss leaders..
All food margins are bad for grocery stores...they end up making the most money off of their non-food items...which is why you often see a growing number of non-food aisles.
Another point... I expect that TJ MAXX just bought up a bunch of the Refurbished iPads and is taking a $50 loss on each to get people in the stores.

Well they did pay money for it. They are probably losing between $70-$100 on each iPad.

I seriously doubt the figure of "80 iPads total" aquired by TJ Maxx that is speculated in the article, but who knows.
I think he meant 8,000. I did the math myself. All you do is count the number of stores east of colorado or so. I estimate 50%-60% of stores got 10 iPads each...throw in some Marshalls stores...and you get between 5,000 - 10,000 iPads.
(notice how some Marshalls stores are holding off on their iPads until Black Friday...maybe they are apple users who actually figure out they have a prized possession...i can see most managers just saying..what are these ipads..lets just give them away).

I think google has a lock on the map thing. I can't see apple employees driving around remapping the world to get their own data base
Google don't map the world either - they do the street map images, but if you look at Google Maps you'll see that the actual roads data comes from either Tele Atlas or Navteq. Those two companies sell their map sets to all the sat-nav companies too.

Man you need EyeTV2 with an EyeTV 500 Digital Broadcast reccorder. You don't need no stinkin HDMI and it plays beautiful 1080p on any 24" Apple or Dell Display from your 1.25GHz G4 without choking at all.
Just make sure your cable provider allows you to record from it. Make sure the signals are not encrypted.
I purchased EyeTV500 and after I figure out the only way to record HDTV was from over the air antenna. I returned it to Elgato after I found out I would have to spend good amount of money buying a really good outdoor antenna plus make holes in the wall and etc. to be able to connect it to my EyeTV and computer.

That's not necessarily true. Stores routinely sell items at a loss to draw people into the store to buy other things. Those kinds of items are called "Loss Leaders". Soft drinks are another example of a typical loss leader for grocery stores.
Unauthorized selling of premium products is called "diversion" in the industry. Many of my clients make premium hair products that are supposed to only be sold in high-end salons that have a special relationship with that producer. Companies like Aveda and Sebastian don't want to see their products in, say, Target because it cheapens their image and weakens the cache salons have to exclusively offer those products and educate the client on how to use the product. Often, the products in retail stores are old versions, rejects and downright fake copies of the real thing and when people aren't happy with the product, it casts a bad light on the brand. Companies spend a lot of time and money tracking down the people who are making back alley deals to the retail stores and cutting off their supplies.

I mean like, I have the new brit Femme Fatale album, ripped it to FLAC.
I used MAX to convert it to ALAC and everything is fine, but when I checked the bit rates of each individual songs in iTunes they were different, is it supposed to be like this or is it some problem with MAX and how it encodes them?
Like one song would have 900 something and another song would have 1100 something, it's weird.

It's called the 'semantic web'. You may want to look it up. Decent web designers have been designing this way for some time where they can and the W3 want everyone to go this way.
I think this makes us web programmers rather than designers.
It will only break your site design if your site design is badly designed in the first place.
Then please go visit www.csszengarden.com and see how user-applied changes break their designs to the point where elements are covered by others. Those designs usually apply to the W3 standards, and I bet they are far better at this things than either you or me.
