twitter to me at a personal level that RSS did at a website level. the way i use twitter is to "follow" people that mean something to me. Graphic designers, musicians, comedians, celebrities, and of course friends. Its great to get incite in what these creative minds are doing through out the day. I don't care what a certain person ate for breakfast, but that certain person might have a really awesome link to share. thats the key to twitter. link sharing.
I also use twitter to research. If i am interested in a product, i will type in the product into twitter search and you get instant results to what real people are saying in real time. Thats how i use Twitter, and see some of its benefits.
Cheers - interesting. Never thought of using it for product searches etc.

Nice. I wonder if the numbers the Google Voice app generates count as mobile numbers. This is really good for me, as some of my best friends are on Verizon.

My husband and I both have off work and we're planning to show up at the AT&T store on Street Rd. around 6am :) . Hopefully that will be early enough for us to get our 3g iPhones!

Only issue I want fixed is wifi. Disconnects a lot.
other than the regular router issues between devices of different manufacturers, there is an old wifi bug that dates back to the first ipad. when it goes to sleep it doesn't release the IP after the half life of the lease like it's supposed to according to open standards. the router ends up assigning it to another device

I'll keep you updated. Currently I'm working on getting my 10 WU's in under my passkey (at 7 right now) and after that I'll shift the i7 iMac over to -bigadv to take advantage of the pts bonuses and then we'll see what it can really do. Hopefully some big PPD. I'm folding under the name 206pilot.

Hi everyone,
I've jailbroken my iPhone for the last 8 months, but have upgraded and been using it normally.
However, today when I turned it to vibrate, the bell with the line showed up on the screen, but on the top right hand corner next to the battery symbol, there was no indication that it was on vibrate mode. Is this normal (i may have forgotten)? Is the symbol just for jailbroken phones? I suddenly noticed this so I am not sure. I have asked around people, but gotten no help. Thanks in advance. Sorry for the stupid question.

New toast sounds tasty also. Drag and drop will be nice. I hate the procedure involved in burning discs.
Though this will I'm sure require some little toast prog to run in the backround, which is one of my big windows hates!!

i'm not to keen on this whole cloud computing concept that is floating around at the moment. Anyone else have doubts?

Most people don't call it a 'cloud,' but an amazing number of people pretty much just use Facebook as their only photo-storage facility. Forget the fact that many of them become down-rezzed when doing so...and that's before you get into conversations about how safe the data is and how you can access it. Those kind of thoughts don't even enter most people's minds.
I've heard from so many people who have lost entire computer drives and kind of laugh it off 'cause their photos are on Facebook and their music is on their iPod.
You and I may see the downsides to cloud computing compared to what we do now, but for these people a better cloud-computing-workflow from a company like Apple would actually be a huge step UP.

Okay, i just want to clarify somethings.
If an officer tells a teenage girl "try to avoid dressing provocatively", and you'll lower your chances of sexual assault, i find that to be fine.
Keep in mind we're not talking about Africa or Middle East, we're talking about US and there are women who get sexually assaulted regardless of what they're wearing.
But i'm sorry, if women think they can walk around half naked, and not expect men to flirt and view her as a sexual object then they have mental issues. The media forces women to look like sexual objects, it's sadly become the "norm", things one would see in a strip club are everywhere in Halloween. Innocence is completely destroyed.
I respect women who respect themselves.
If a man sees a woman with a low top, lots of cleavage showing, high skirts and heels, then he will view her as trash. Why? because she has no self respect. She's just showing she is available. There is a difference between sexy and slutty, a fine line which has long been crossed.
Now i'm not telling you to cover yourself up completely, but some modesty and some equal balance is necessary. Women shouldn't expect that they can have their cake and eat it too. Life doesn't work like that.
Men might ogle at women who dress provocatively, but no decent man will ever want one as a wife. If you dress like a local sl*t then don't expect to be treated like a princess.
I don't want to walk down the street and see women showing off their bodies provocatively. How would society be if men were to always walk around with no shirts and with their d*cks hanging out? This is becoming like the life of a primitive human.
It seems like now a days, society has no rules, that's why people are so confused from what is right and what is wrong.
The Sharia Law is just extremism.
No Sydde, it is common sense.
It's like an officer telling you to lock your doors to reduce the chances of robbery. Will you still be robbed? Yes of course there's a possibility. Does it reduce the chances of being robbed? Yes it does.
Is it wrong to rob? Yes it is, but if you leave the doors wide open then you're just being stupid.
Now one might argue "what is provocative then?" these rules need to be created in society, and since now a days we have no censorship in the media we consume apart from extreme sexuality, there doesn't seem to be any rules. I blame the parents for not setting up dress codes.
I believe it goes both ways, men should stop sexually assaulting women, and women should dress with more respect, it's a cycle so someone needs to stop, to lower the chances of sexual assault. Battery life has been awful since the upgrade and seems to be getting worse. Daily charges and sometimes more frequent. This is after charging at the soonest 1.5 days since I got the iPhone 4.
