Not a word said about this I485 fiasco on the two mostly watched networks (CNN, ABC). Why can't we try to get their attention in this matter. Please suggest ways of getting this published in the above networks.
I sent emails to CNN, ABC. NBC, FOX and know of atleast 2 more people who have done so. They are busy covering what Paris did in jail and why bush let libby out ..

EAD Efiling was done on Monday 06/23, but haven't used AC21 till now.
But there is a soft LUD on 485s (both mine and my wife's ) on 06/25.
I don't know exactly what is, but i think it's related to EAD renewal. Because my PD is Nov/2003 EB3 india and there is no way i'm near the end of road for GC
Did you report that you used AC-21 to USCIS? If so, then it might be triggered a LUD in your 485. Nothing to worrry.

AILA has reported the USCIS update on this issue dated 03/20/2009. According to this USCIS release which may be released on its website soon, the people will be either subject to the new law or not subject to the new law:
Those Who Are Subject to the New Law:
Any LCA or petition filed on or after 02/17/2009 by such employer for hire as a new employee regardless of whether he/she is already in H-1B status and regardless of concurrent new employment by such a new employer.
New employment based on a petition approved before Feb. 17, 2009 but the H-1B employee had not actually commenced employment before that date.
Those Who Are Not Subject to the New Law:
H-1B petition to extend the H-1B status (EOS) of a current employee with
the same employer (TARP funded).
H-1B petition seeking to change the status (COS) of a current U.S. work authorized employee to H-1B status with the same employer (TARP funded).
It is a huge relief for those nonimmigrants who are currently working with the TARP employers who need extension of their current H-1B status or change of their nonimmigrant status from other nonimmigrant classification to H-1B, particulay in the FY 2010 H-1B cap filing on or after April 1, 2009. I dont have any changes to status when I check my 485 case status online but today in the mail i received I797c notice welcoming me as a premenant residence. I am a bit hesitant to celebrate, but am I seeing green?:o

On February 9, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

My lawyer sent me the fedex tracking sheet for the I-485 package sent to:
USCIS
Nebraska Service Center
850 S Street
Lincoln, NE 68508
I did not see any PO Box on the Fedex tracking sheet. I am not sure if she put the PO Box on the shipping label or not??
Is it a big deal?? Will my application be accepted.

We applied for SSN today, they said the same thing that it should not be a problem to get SSN. But i guess the best option would be to refile instead of waiting for renewal as i plan to use my EAD and work.

Since on 2nd July they said they will reject the AOS application, what if they would have done some rejection during that time, and by the time July filers get their application back, it is after 17th of August. In that circumstance, can you send the AOS application back arguing USCIS's mistake and ask them to take it back after 08/17 and would they take it back politely or reject it again.

What else do you want Bro. Give 30 days time to USCIS to send your card. we, most of us, would me more satisfied just to see the magical words - Current Status: Card production ordered in our case status.
Regarding holding card in physically, have to wait some time. Which should not be more taxing than waiting to see the magical words.
I started calling my friends the same night that I got GC, but back in my mind I was still not sure and thought "whatif USCIS made a mistake" and thought may be I should wait until I get the card.
I have spent coupla nights searching forums what kind of email people get when GC approved. I found most get Approval Email and Card production. I got only one email. I am still not able to believe I got GC. It was like a distant dream few weeks ago.

I think he is serious. 485 receipt numbers may not be in sequence. Eg. TSC may assign one receipt number to 485 and the next one to 765.
