Has anyone claimed unemployment benefits in EAD in TX state after being laid off? Can you please tell whats the procedure. I do not want to get into the debate of whether UB can be claimed while in AOS state? I just need to know the procedure. Thanks.

I am positively sick of seeing the same "case received and pending" status on my I-485 case for the past two years (almost). I call CIS and they parrot like repeat the same status which I see on their website. They tell me they have no further information.
I simply can't take it any more. I have already paid unnacceptably high human cost for this GC. If my case has any discrepency and it is going to be rejected eventually, then I dont see any point of working in US from this point onwards itself. I would rather move back to India and use this time to build my career there.
I can hang on only if I somehow get to know if my case has been pre-adjudicated for approval, and no more bureaucratic actions are required on it. But how do I do that?
Any ideas?

You bet rajsand! We saw the strength of our unity in DC and we learned many things, one of which is we MUST educate people and Congress! It's amazing how little they actually know about us, in spite of HOW MUCH we contribute! That is JUST NOT FAIR!

Hi!
My mom's a Gynecologist. She got her MBBS and MS from India in 1978. She has been working in India since then.
How can she start practicing in the United States? I have absolutely NO idea. I have heard about the USMLE Exam, but is it necessary for a person with 25+ years of experience? Will she have to do her medical-residency AGAIN?
Please advise.
OBGyn is generally 4 yr residency and knid of competitive these days. And yes u have to clear Step 1 and 2 definitly.
Had u been from middle eastern country, Hurley Medical Center in Flint would have been easy to go program. And if you are from certain part of India ( I'll give Satyam as hint ;)) , Synergy in Saginaw, MI would have been #1 choice.

Excellent. I am new in this cage..but I am proud to be here. I will definetly donate generously for 4 core for future lobbying. Also I would think..we need 2 avoid anti-immigration media such as CNN etc. I saw WSJ, Business Week, CNBC(Brian William news at 6.30), CNBC Maria, Washington post, New york time and some other local news paper helping us with covergae on this issue. We shouldn't be helping Lou dobb's kind of guys to boost his ratings. I decided to stay away from that chap!! and CNN. I know many of my friends regulary watch CNN and I advised everyone to switch to other channel..what u guys think. Once again congts all.. sleep well and enjoy..

While eating dinner last night, I noticed a pitcher and glasses set in our china cabinet and decided to try a studio shot. I used one of my wife's black dresses, hung from the light fixture over our dining room table, as a backdrop. The glasses are sitting on a lens and various bowls and cups to raise them to the levels I wanted. I used white poster board on either side to reflect some light. Light source is a single flash unit bounced off of the ceiling. Thoughts on what I could do to make the shot better, aside from spending $2,000 to buy studio lighting equipment?

You don't need to get H1 stamping done if you have Advance Parole. Some firms may be suggesting their clients to renew H1B so they can charge bunch of fees. Since it is no cost for you it works in your favor as having H1B and EAD as backup doesn't hurt.

When your adjustment of status application(I485) approves then you will be registered as Permanent Resident.

I believe consular processing can be used only if the dates are current. It might take a long time for 2003 April EB3 India to be current. Since Green Card is for future employment, is there anyway to continue the Green Card process while in India ??

On reading a bit about PIMS, it seems that if your information is not in the KCC, then the US consulate sends a request to Kentucky for information. It turns out KCC has access to the CLAIMS3 system used by the USCIS, and they generally respond in 48 hrs. Here is the link:
