You don't need to unlock iPad. They aren't locked in the first place, unless you bought one in Japan.

thus, im pleased w/ iOS policies, at the expense of devious marketeers.
And what is iOS's policy? That you get a dialogue window instead of a checkbox? I'm really glad at this momentous improvement.
Why would any country allow newspapers to sell subscriptions without the option to opt out? Check back with your politicians if that were legal in your country.

No, it's just principle. It is in fact a lack of principle. The principled stand is that killing is bad, period. It brutalises the society on whose behalf it is carried out and panders to the basest instinctual desire for revenge.
Why kill 'em when you can give 'em free food and lodging for life?Actually in this case the DP is being abolished precisely because it is cheaper to give them free food and lodging for life.

Legally, if you make any kind of contract, you have to identify yourself.
No you don't.
Because the Financial Times wants it that way. The company offers its content to subscribers under certain conditions, and it is free do so. If the company should not be allowed to do that for the sake of consumer protection, then there should be laws to prohibit such practice. If you personally do not agree with the conditions of the subscription, then you are always free to decide not to subscribe. If it turns out that their decision keeps customers from subscribing, then they might choose to reconsider.
True. They can refuse to sell their news to anyone who wants to be anonymous. They can also refuse to sell their news to anyone who refuses to give them blood, name their firstborn Nancy, or any other legal condition they wish to impose.
That doesn't mean Apple is wrong for trying to prevent the use of their platform to facilitate the operation of such objectionable conditions precedent, and it doesn't mean that the FT business model, operating this way, is sustainable in the long term.

...Some games I would like to see now that we are seeing stuff like this pop up in the app store:
...Gauntlet
Pitfall
Defender
...Star Wars (wire frame version)
:D
I also would LOVE these games!
Add 'Paper Boy', 'Crystal Castles', and '720' I would be a happy camper.

I got a weird bug. Sometimes my albums in the photos app go right to the top of the screen and show underneath the 'menubar' at the top so I can tap on it and open the first album in the list. If I pull it back down on the rubberband effect it still goes to the top of the screen?! I have to restart my phone for it to reset and its still hit and miss whether it works.
I have experienced this twice since upgrading to 4.3.1. I also have a strange bug (much more frequent) where the title bar in the Mail app periodically shows no text, and the arrow buttons to move to the previous screen show no text either. Strange, but more an annoyance than anything.

The White IP4 will look sick, much like how awesome the white iPad 2 looks. I think the demand will still be strong for it due to all of the September IP5 rumors, and the fact that I know tons of people that have broken old iPhone are are waiting for the white to release. I would not expect crazy demand for it, but sales should be very good.

Why is a calling feature tied to a messaging one?
I'd imagine so it looks like people are getting something for "free" (I'd be willing to bet that most of their customers are already on an unlimited messaging plan, particularly if they're on a family plan) while still maintaining some semblance of profitability for the carrier (messaging plans are generally believed to be pure profit).
I'm excited about this feature, even if I don't truly *need* it. I'm on the lowest-tiered family plan right now and I have literally thousands of rollover minutes. Most of my friends and family are on AT&T (lots of iPhone users) and I don't call anyone all that often anyway. However, it's always nice to have yet another feature that establishes peace of mind. Plus, I hope this is the first in a long line of steps to reduce the overall cost of monthly service for AT&T users (unlikely, but I can dream...and perhaps a massive deflection to Verizon will help speed things along).
Plus, it's just another choice for users. I may not use my phone as a phone all that often, but lots of AT&T users do. I bet this reduces the overall cost of a plan for some iPhone users, particularly those on a family plan.

I keep getting the message "unable to find cellular network flashing on my phone almost every time I open up to create a text. It goes away after about a second and then I can write or read.
This since 4.3.
Anyone else?
Also battery way down.

Awesome just called 611 and confirmed
2 Iphone lines 700 min/month
unlimited data
unlimited txt
unlimitied mob-2-mob
unlimited nights/weekends
all for $154/month.
(includes 10% FAN discount)
I save $432/year from my current plan.
I did lose about 11000 roll over minutes. But whatever, I don't use them and I'd rather pay a smaller bill each month.

With the Verizon iPhone coming out, us folks who live out in the middle-of-nowhere South Dakota will finally be able to get the Jesus phone.
Of course, despite all that AT&T claimed it would do, they've still yet to launch out here. I for one will be in Sioux Falls on the 10th to pick up my iPhone 4, who else will be there?

The team who are overtaking us are really strong, most likely dropouts from the big teams. Not much we can do about it. Bigadv is still where the big PPD are, especially now with the 6 cores Xeon, very fast for one CPU packages.

Reason it isn't a disgrace: The white enclosure apparently was causing trouble with the camera due to light leakage. You would most likely be calling that disgraceful if they had indeed released a 500$ phone with that rather huge flaw, so I guess they can't win.
The camera issue actually only occurred in white iPhones where people bought unofficial knockoff parts to modify their black iPhones. People who were lucky enough to get the few real deal Foxcon parts experienced no issues. However, I do believe that white was delayed because (among economic reasons) the backlight bled through the glass and was very noticeable in dark settings.

Really stop lying to yourself. Android is a powerful mobile OS that can be adapted to many situations. Its not going anywhere for a while. Kindle will not outsell it as kindles direct competition the Nook (an android device). Android will save people money in the future. Why right your own set of code for a cash register when you just build it on top of android.
It will be a shocker for you when it happens.
