I'm in my 9th year of H1B which is going to expire in about six months. My employer is suggesting to extend H1B and not use or extend EAD. Based on your experience and knowledge please post your advise. If a post like this already exists, please point me to that. I could not find one easily. Thanks a lot.

If your wife wants to work, then, of course, both of you have to be on EAD.That's not correct. Primary applicant could be on H1 and dependent use EAD. When dependent starts using EAD it doesn't affect primary applicant.

I am live example..
my perm was denied..and we filed MTR which has not gone through yet
then my company filed another perm but for a different position and
description..that got approved..
i extened H1 with MTR but lost my priority date..which does not matter to me
since i am EB2 and Rest of the world...just incase my MTR gets accepted
i can use that PD

I wouldn't know for sure, as I've never messed with bracketing automatically on my D1, but it seems that you could put the camera in aperture priority, set it for +/- 1 bracketing, and it should automatically take a series of exposures by varying the shutter speed and leaving the aperture constant.

It would be great if our core members get in touch with the executive editors of Information week (All contact information listed in informationweek.com) and send a document representing our issues. There is a good chance that it gets printed.
Information week magazine has a nationwide audience including CEO's who can push our case for lobbying. They have printed various articles in the past about HIB and Greencard issues.

If the premium processing unit sent an e-mail that the petition was approved it does indeed mean it was approved.
Ignore the online status and expect the approval notice in the mail. No need need to panic.
This is from my own experience.
My attorney received an email notice of I-140 approval (PP) on Mon, June 25. But the online case status showed the application as pending. Finally,today my attorney called and was told that due to "system glitch ", approval notices were sent out in error!! It seems this has done to others too!!
Did anyone else encounter this?

Since i had to spend US $ 70 on passportport photos during july 2007 filing, i wrote my own app to format passport photos. some of my my friends and i used it for filing AP the last couple years. i can email it to any of you if you want it. just PM me.

I would think writing back to the Senator's office regarding your email and the unrelated response you got from the office has frustrated you, as the Senators does not seem to understand the problems, and therefore you are asking for an appointment to meet with the senator and explaining it personally.
You may not get the appointment to meet with the Senator, but you will let them know how badly they are screwing up constituents complaints. By following up and actually meeting with an immigration staff members in the Senator's office will be good.

Extensions are not allowed. But.... you can always enter Canada before the final date and then come back to the USA to finish your tasks. I have heard that you have to apply for the Canadian equivalent of the GC once you get there, which gets mailed out few days later, so if you have some one there it would be helpful. Also must have a visa to return back to the US.
