Looks like three newcomers that didn't sleep the night have shown up. Apple said we can move in front if the store around 9-10 AM.

The Finder brushed metal will be the last surprise change to the UI. Brushed metal is so 2004. Probably we'll see a radical change to Finder?

My guess, we'll see buttons and soft gradients, like those on the Apple store (Mac Book Pro) pages.

You wont be waiting for the 6 if you upgrade now (regardless to iPhone 4 or 5), you'll be waiting for the 7.

Some of us might. I like being eligible for yearly upgrades for AT&T, and I might finally start taking advantage of it.

Max (http://sbooth.org/Max/) is among the more popular free options. :) I really like it, although it's been a while since I used it. It supports FLAC and OGG, although I used it for other things...

I turned on the TV just about five minutes before the second plane hit the WTC... before that, they were talking about a fire in one tower of the WTC, which would have been bad enough but could have just happened by accident. As soon as the second plane hit, I (and everyone else, I guess) knew that bad things were happening. Spent the rest of the day watching TV, surfing the web, and calling family. I have a couple of step-cousins who worked in the WTC complex and lived a few blocks away... one of them had the day off, the other was thankfully late for work.

Alternatively, you could create a third partition on your laptop and format it as FAT32 or exFAT and keep all of your data on there so both Windows and Mac and read & write the files.

Hmm, FAT32 only allows for 4GB, right? Anyway, can you please tell me how this can be achieved? Links would be appreciated :)

I haven't found anything that works well for Windows. I would recommend that you give MacDrive a try or look a Paragon. Both are well maintained and if there is an issue have tools to help you repair the partition.

I see, but like i said, MacDrive is paid.. So is Paragon.. i need a free version, if you know of any. thanks :D

Side note: Did you know that NTFS Mounter works perfectly for and quietly for writing NTFS from HFS?

    Cheers :)

I heard that you'd passed on.

And you still haven't responded. Why? You asked a serious question, I responded in a serious fashion, and still no reply...

If there's one thing I'll never understand, it's why so many poor->low middle class people are conservative. I'll NEVER understand that. It's like you willingly like to shoot yourself in the foot. WTF?!

Because some people have morals. Because some people don't vote for things just because they'd enjoy some immediate personal benefit. Because some people see the bigger picture and value personal responsibility. They don't want a hand-out, they want to live with a good conscience. Thank God this is the case.

For the same reasons, these people are also more charitable (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=628006) than liberals. Conservatives and religious people are far more charitable to both religious and secular causes as a percentage of their income.

So, now Zune software is gonna compete with Windows Phone 7?

No, Zune IS the multimedia software on Windows Phone 7.

I don't even know why this is news, it's nothing more than a rumor that MS won't produce any more hardware in house.

Alternative that works for both factors and character vectors:

    > a <- data.frame(cbind(sample(c("red","green","blue"),10,T),matrix(rnorm(30),10,3,T)))

The Airs look really tempting (once Lion comes out, not much point at the moment for me).

However I see comments about it not being great for the 'heavy lifting' jobs. I don't do much processor intensive stuff, but on my '08 MacBook, iPhoto sometimes takes a while and exporting an hours movie from iMovie it can slug quite a bit.

How do the Airs cope with these kind of tasks?

I think a hard case would have higher protection.

i had a hard case before and my ipod fell from my loft bed (not even close to 2 metres), and fell apart and my ipod was dead.

meeting someone in person who has the 1.0 version and having them log into iTunes on my iPad long enough to install the app and then logging out.

Kind of an underground app sharing scenario requiring an actual meeting.

    I'll buy the lunch :)

I'm in Brooklyn. Do you drive?

That would be nice, but it won't work, since people don't read instructions and continually post in the wrong forums, anyway. We could already fill a forum for speculations on the next MacBook/MacBook Pro/MacBook Air/iMac/Mac Mini/Mac Pro updates.

I agree. Every product would need their own speculation forum too or it would be a mess (and couldn't exclude the posts in Forum Spy). Mods are already have enough work with moving the current threads.

Trying to keep the discussion in one thread has been tried millions of times but it never works either.

after looking at the new version I felt that it was great but the ads just really killed it. The space at the top was really hurtful of the overall design. I forked over a whopping $20 for a year and got the member version and look at how nice it looks! Plus think of how good the money can be used by Arn to make this an even better site!

I was able to get an image displayed based on a bitmap my program computed. The code looked something like this (paraphrasing)...

sometimes apple is really good at advertising the same things the previous product already had but they make it sound like its a new feature..
What they advertise is "Now a richer Multi-Touch experience comes to the Mac", and that's indeed true as there are a lot of new gestures.
