Lou Dobbs exposed...
Lou Dobs is referred to as a right-wing populist demagogue. Atlast some one has the courage to speak out the truth.
http://www.wsws.org/articles/2006/jun2006/immi-j16.shtml
He is known for bashing outsourcing and always made up statistics how outsourcing was not cost effective.
He has also compared how a job of one person is done by 10 people in Asian countries but cared less to inform the general public that cost of labor for 10 is less than that of one person here in united states.

rheoretro,
Many of the threads posted here are not directly related to "Employment-Based Green Card Retrogression". Most of them are related to problems we immigrants face day after day.
I started this thread with a good intent. Many people who are searching for jobs are lured by "flashing advertisements" in sulekha. They find out the reality only once they start working for them and "Green Card" is sponsored.
So if each one of us can post about good consulting companies we know about, it will help the current job hunters. (By the way, as far as I know, the majority of us in this forum work as consultants rather than as full-time employees)
And what would that list of "good consulting companies" have to do with IV? Or Employment-Based LEGAL IMMIGRATION?

Yes, it is called Consular Processing. You can apply using I140; Only Caveat being, visa number should be available (Priority date should be current) when attending the consular interview and the visa is employment/family based immigrant visa (unofficially green card) - not non-immigrant visas like H1/B1/L1.

Well, The Travisa & Embassy web site recommends not to book tickets.
Travisa is very good in updating the status at each step. In my case, my son's US passport was submitted on a Friday to Indian Embassy and they processed on following Monday and returned to Travisa on Tuesday, Although Travisa updates, they shipped passport/pio to me on Tuesday, It left the facility only on Wednesday and I received next day.
I personally will wait till I secure the documents in hand before any travel arrangements.

YHowever, you will need to join company B at some point in time. This is what my company B told me. I believe it is once you file your 485 but I am not sure.
You need to intend to work for the sponsoring employer once permanent residence is approved.

This is all election fever and fear, they could have easily passed or amend Legal immigration first before taking CIR. Legals are SCAPE GOATS in the hands of Hispanic Caucus.
Please go and talk to Hispanic Caucus about it. Maybe they will listen to your desperate call for help and suffering.
Tell them you want to buy bigger house, fancier car and get promoted to make more money. You cannot go to Europe vacations or on a Cruise without a greencard. Your wife cannot also make 100K+ money as much as you make and so your kids are starving. Tell them that you are very educated and have Ivy league degrees. Despite all your intelligence and smartness, your employer is exploiting you and not giving promotions.
Then say your problems are more important than problems of undocumented. They are anyways subhuman and you do not care if they do not have food to eat, get exploited, do not get medical care or have a roof above their house. They should all be jailed and deported like animals. USA is a rich country and can easily round up 13 million people and deport them. Suggest some ways of deportation using your smart intelligence.
I'm sure Hispanic Caucus and for that matter any Congress member will definitely listen to you without forming a negative opinion about the arrogance of the entire H1Bkind..

EDIT (correction) - from this link: http://thevisabulletin.com/2008/7th-year-h-1b-extensions-under-ac21-104c-and-106a-statutes-and-uscis-guidance/
Question 2. How early can a request for an H-1B extension beyond the 6th year be filed?
Answer: The April 24, 2003 guidance memorandum is modified in the following manner: a petitioner must establish that the above criteria (see Question 1 outlining requirements under Section 106(a)) were or will be met either on or before the requested start date on the H-1B extension application. Thus, an alien is eligible for an extension of H-1B status beyond the 6th year as long as either the qualifying labor certification application or I-140 petition has or will have been pending for at least 365 days prior to the alien’s requested start date, regardless of whether the H-1B extension application was filed prior to the passage of such period If the alien would no longer be in H-1B status at the time that 365 days from the filing of the labor certification application or immigrant petition has run, thus leaving a gap in valid status, then the extension of stay request cannot be granted.

His PD is July 2006. He would have gotten the 2 year EAD either way. EB2 India is June 01 2006.
Isn't there a rule that talks about folks getting their 2 year EAD only if they are two years (or some timeframe) away from their PD?

Yes, dailykos does have a very strict policy of purging trolls and hecklers. They too are anti first-amendment and anti free-speech like IV moderators. If you go on their site and post nonsense, you will be banned in a nano-second.
Unlike IV, where we used to argue and reason with trolls and miscreants last year.
People who think IV is undemocratic and opposed to different viewpoints, choking their first amendment rights and opposed to free speech should check out the king of all blogs www.dailykos.com that has 20 million hits on that site and post anti website messages there.
Or try posting a dairy (its called dairy there, same thing as a thread here) against Markos Moulitsas Zuniga (owner of dailykos).
A few months ago, he purged all the people who posted nonsense conspiracy theories because it made his website look bad. After that he purged all the users who recommended and posted comments on those nonsense dairies. Once you are banned, you cant post new stuff for one week because once you can sign up with a new ID immediately, but there is one week waiting period after you signup and you can post stuff only after one week waiting period is over. Kind of like the gun law in California. If you want to buy a gun, you can apply for it and there is one week waiting period and then you get the gun. So if you are mad at someone and want to shoot someone, you cannot just buy a gun and start shooting.
That is how the world works. You dont get the trash people on their own website.
Anyways, I read your post as cacophonix and its great. You have put and elaborate and detailed post and thank you for doing that.

Another bizzare behaviour with Renewal of Efile EAD....
My 2 cents is just send them what they need....they have specifically asked us not to send photos when e-filling and now they raise an RFE coz u did not send photos...
God come down to earth and save us from this atrocity....

Man,
You can take any or take both. It does not matter as long as they have at least one to see....Dont take tension, there is nothing to FP as long as you attend it

I was not aware of the 120 days... I filed my wifes EAD day 138 days before expiry (should have been more carefull!)... So what happens now? Rejection? Denial? RFE?
Also what docs should be send after efiling, if any?

My perm was approved a couple of weeks back and we are going to file the 140 pretty soon. In the mean while I had a question regarding the educational equivalency issue I see during this stage. The perm is for EB-2 which requires a Masters Degree( Foreign Degree acceptable). I've a Bachelors from UK which is 3 years and a Masters from UK which is 1 year. During the I-140 process will there be a problem coz of this. Do we have to submit the Bachelors degree information even though the requirement is for a Masters?
Thanks for any input.
