I am planning to book tickets for my parents travelling from India to US and returning back to India after 2 months. I have some questions:
1) Is it necessary to book tickets in India?
2) If not, Can I book tickets through orbitz or expedia in the US and send them the e-tickets?
Please reply with your experiences.

I have booked tickets on orbitz.com for my parents and cheaptickets.com for my in-laws. Both were eTickets and there were no problems. I preferred to pay in USD over INR due to the fact that visa/ mastercard charge a 1% transaction fee for international currency and my bank would have screwed me on the exchange rate.

In my case they made 4-5 attempts before it was delivered...
To whom they tried to deliver....basically its PO box..no signature required for PO boxes.

Yes I am using IE7 and I have the same issue. Even for the 2nd last topic I have to really scroll my mouse all over so I can find the hyperlink.

Thanks so much for your reply. I think it will always a good idea to keep USCIS inform about your working condition since this is 'Employment based' case.
For AC21 I think I will need to match following:
1. New employment letter which should describe duties which 'must' be same or similar to what was mentioned in my labor certificate.
2. Start date/salary/position title
3. Any Benefits if provided.

The lawyer usually send the cover letter justifying the "same or similar job" salary, location etc. This also depends a lot on what is in original PERM.
Good lawyer will also draft the letter you will need from new employer. sometimes this may require to be less specific. (details are veriable). But it needs to be a "permanent job offer".

Forgive my ignorance, but would you be able to use the extension tubes mentioned above with a third party lens like the Sigma Gary mentioned? Obviously the Sigma lens would have to be a Nikon mount since the tubes mentioned above are Nikon, but assuming the mounts were the same would that work?

How is that you have your PD in EB2 jan 03 and still did not have I-140 approved. I think you could have a issue anytime since EB2 Jan 03 seems to be current.

I think best option will be to use Consular Processing for your EB2 petition. You will have your GC very soon if PD remains current (which is very likely in your case).

Hi,
My company is closing some offices and wants us to work from home. I have a premanent position and I am working for this company since last 3 years.
My I140 is cleared and I am in process of extensing my H1B which expires in June 2009.
I want to know for how long, I can work from India on H1B being on US payroll? I am planning to maintain one address at location where my LCA is filed?
Will there be any issues, if I worl for say 4-5 months from India and come back? WIll this effect my status?

Call customer service - select the address change option and when you get to a customer service agent give them the receipt number and they will verify the information on it. If it doesnt match they will advise you. Then you know if its your receipt number or not.

I am a lil bit confused here. If there is a job that requires little or NO EXPERIENCE, would it be hard to find a US Citizen?

That is the reason that PERM labor certification requires employer to provide proof that enough advertizing was done and no US citizen was qualified AND willing to accept the job, before deciding to go for an Alien.

Usually consulting companies put generic designations like software engineer or a programmer analayst in their LC. I think that is what you should look for the classification. This is a gray area.
There is a title called consultant. I have labor and I-140 approved on this title.

What happens if your W2 is higher then the prevailing wage? Like $22K higher?
Look at my past posts. I asked this question some time back and people said it should be OK. I got an RFE and the lawyer did not seem to care that my current salary is much higher than the LC.

We are a big company B part of another big company Part A. The labor, I-140, and I-485 has everything mentioning B as the employer.
But for the employment letter, the lawyer got the letter from A which refers that I am a permanent employee of B with all the required details. I asked the lawyer why the employment letter is on company A's letter head and she said it is fine since your Company B is part of Company A.
I am concerned how will USCIS know Company A owns Company B. HOpefully it's fine.
Please help.

After opening 3 SR's and letter through Attorney and finally infopass appointment (not yet done) got the FP notice for my self today (for the first time and applied for EAD renewal).
My dependent (my spouse) has not received her FP notice yet.
Questions:
1. FP is scheduled for Aug 16 2008 (which is Saturday) and is it common to have FP notice scheduled over the weekend in Dallas TX.
2. My spouse did not receive her FP notice, can I take her along with me for the appointment with all the Recipts (I mean all the req docs), will that work
3. And I have infopass appointment on Aug 12 would that help in finiding more details about my case?
Gurus, Please answers/provide your experience/suggestions to the above questions.
Last but not the least, I would like to thank all those who have suggested me in opening SR, take help of attorney, and to take infopass.

I am not 100% sure about this issue but� I do see couple of emails from attorneys regarding denying port of entry in NJ airport. If you come across of any cases please share.

I would like to post a positive answer, but the fact is "it does not" . Unless the "DO Noting" Congress Does something - no relief soon. If you are young and in EB3 (with '08) PD, Use this time to earn a higher degree if possible and at some point in future, it might help you apply under the E2 or E1 category.
While waiting for my GC i have completed my Management program from Northwestern University and now i got myself ported to EB2. Knowing i cant got anywhere helped me focus on my Masters and get it completed. Now i am waiting to get the GC before i look for a new job. I think porting from EB3 to EB2 is going to help people in the EB3 queue who are not supported by their companies to covert to EB2.
