Now I have seen many people filed on June 2007 get GC approvals. Now onwards their number is keep on increasing. Please put your details on this thread to see the trend. I think all Jun 2007 filers will get GC for the 2008 quota. Provided their I-140 is approved and NC is cleared.

I have a passport expiry and new visa stamping conflict. My last visa stamping expired on Oct 01, 2009. And my current (Indian)passport expiration date is July 04, 2011. Also, my H1b approval is under the transfer process (so I don't have the new I-797 as yet). I'm planning to travel to India sometime in January, expecting the new H1b approval soon now.
Should i get my passport renewed here before leaving for India ? I'm worried if they will give me a new passport valid only for a year as a note on the website says "A passport is also issued for one year in cases of expiry of valid U.S. residence visa. In such cases, applicants have to apply for extension of validity as soon as valid U.S. Residence visa is approved. There is no fee for extension of validity of passport."
Since my last visa stamping has expired and I will soon have a new H1B, if i go for a new visa stamping, will I be given a visa with validity until my passport expiry ? Or, I can get my passport renewed in India and then go for the stamping? I'm afraid I may not have enough days to squeeze in both when I visit. I just realized that I didn't explain what HDR is- The idea is to take a series of more or less 10 photos with different shuttle speeds and then composite them into one unique image that will capture all the light effect due of the high range of the natural light.
The exposure range of a modern digital camera is about 5 stops, or a range of 32 times more light in the lighter than in the darkest region. If you take one shot at -2 and one at +2, you've extended the range by 4 stops in total. This will give 9 stops, 512 times more light in the lightest part than in the darkest part. This is A LOT of range. You could extend this to three stops either direction, and get 11 stops range, which is about 2000 times more light in the lightest region than in the darkest.
If we assume that you start out at 1/125 f=8, then the 3 stops would give you:
1/15 f=8 +3
1/125 f=8 0
1/1000 f=8 -3
1/15 f=8 is about the right for a relativley dimly lit indoors scene, 1/1000 f=8 is good for outdoors.
I'm not sure exactly what you're after in this, but I would think that would be sufficient for most purposes. If it's not, can you explain under what circumstances you're (planning on) taking these photos?

Hi All,
I am currently on h4 visa and have been searching for a h1 sponsorer to do h1 workpermit visa in the coming april 2009 lottery (if there is one).
I am very new to understand the rules and regulations and seek help from experienced folks here.
1) If i file a non-profit h1b visa , i was suggested that i can work immediately, is that true?

leave here..Any organization needs money to survive...Who
will donate it? But I agree that we need an organization
to represent ourselves.
Certain things we could address after GC Retrogression is
undercontrol ( if ever happens)
1. Address FBI name check issue..
2. Bring back VISA revalidation inside USA so that we
dont have to make a trip to US embassy..
3. Work for getting Social Security money back if we returns to home country.
....etc etc........
As time pass by old issues may be solved, but new issues will
surface.....
So I'll support an organization for sure!

I want to address this to everyone. Any organization needs a clear and precise Vision statement. Majority of the senior member complain that the people with green card and citizenship do not support immigration voice; then the question becomes what is our vision. If we confine ourselves to the benefit that we all should get green card, then what is the need for someone who has already got a green card to visit this web site. Humans are need based animals, whether you like it or not tomorrow if I get my Green Card (A big IF) it is very much likely that my visit to this website will be minimized. My priorities will be different. So core group should get a better vision statement which might address all immigrants.
The reason I came to immigration voice is slightly different, because I am still not convinced enough to accept that core group could do something which will make our law makers� act different. I support immigration voice on a bigger picture, it unites all immigrants together, and the website provides me support to all my immigration need. For example, I can search the website and find information regarding visa stamping, H1 quota and what my fellow countrymen think about it. So my sincere advice to the core group is to create a vision statement which is much bigger than the green card issue and which will make sure all immigrant no matter with green card or not will visit our website. Make the vision statement visible in the website. You have much better exposure through this. I have to agree, I am writing this out of frustration :D , but to be honest, do not treat this website for green card retrogression alone, treat it as something bigger, which will address all immigrant needs.

To my best knowledge the PD is set at the I-140 stage. As a matter of fact, there's a field in the administrative part of that form where the PD is stated. Short of saying that it wouldn't be possible to claim an earlier PD at the I-485 stage I would assume that your lawyer should jump much more loops to get you an earlier PD then.

Did you even talk to your employer yet? They will ask for marriage certificate and nothing else. Who informed you about I-94? one of your friends/forum members? Are they giving insurance to you.

There is no information or caption on our home page that clearly states that this site/group is for highly skilled immigrants. We should come up with a caption that would convey this and also convey that its for all countries. We can add this beside the immigration voice logo.
The caption should be catchy and should convey the info....some thing like "by the people and for the people".

Hello,
I got my EAD through my primary Employer. I am currently working on EAD but with a different Employer (NY State Agency) who doesn�t encourage GC processing, so did not file my AC21 and been working for over a year now. I still have good rapport with my primary Employer. Now I am scheduled to go to INDIA for few weeks, my question is " whom should I say is my Employer " if the immigration officer asks me at the port of entry (JFK). Please advise as I will be carrying my current pay stubs.

I'm Aug-2005 EB2-I.
Haven't received my GC yet.
I think, based on various experiences mentioned here, opening a SR, taking local immigration office appointments, etc is a way to get USCIS to look at your file.
I also read, if there was a pending EAD renewal, your case might get looked at and instead of renewing your EAD, USCIS will rather give you GC - provided PD is current and there are no other issues.
I know none of these 2 things have a documented backing...apart from people's experiences (which, I value a lot - don't get me wrong there).
My EAD was also up for renewal - filed in June. Got the "card production ordered" e-mail @ that yesterday. And, no change on the AOS case.
So, should I take other steps @ my AOS case - like, opening a SR, taking IO appointment, etc ?

There was one case where in appeal his claim for AC-21 was upheld, but his job location was different from LCA location, so he was termed out of status on H1 and since his out of status > 180 days, his I-485 was denied.
This happened in early 2007.
