I ran into the same issue when my wife I-94 was about to expire even though she had valid visa in her passport till 2010. We just crossed over to Canada (through Detroit) and after spending an hour we returned back to US. On our entry, we requested the officer to issue new I-94 since it was expiring. He directed us to the immigration officer who issued a new I-94.
My I-94 has expired becoz it was issued up to my passport validity. If I have to renew it, is it a good option to cross border and get a new I-94, like going to Mexico or Canada. Please advice. I am not sure how to proceed. No one knows the procedure. Please if anyone knows, advice.

You should try this option, in one of the immigration lawyer's forum they mentioned about this. If you have this you can get 3 yrs extension, that saves lot of moeny and time. It's worth exploring this option. Please share with us, if you are able to succed with this option.

Thanks very much for your tireless work.
I have some serious questions to you. Hope you will answer them. I fully understand that you are all volunteers. I am not demanding anything; rather this is a request...
1) Does IV working on any temprory EB visa fix for people waiting for 8 years? Or IV is waiting for CIR to happen?
2) A simple one line amendment (that is easily acceptable by the lawmakers) in a must pass bill will fix the problems of long time sufferers. Does IV have anything in its agenda?
3) Does IV beleive in bringing releif to IV members in steps or do you want to solve all members problem in one shot? If the second case is true, is it possible in this economy?
4) Recently many immigration related amendments are debated in congress; not for one bill but during two bills. There was no single amendment that helps the heavily retrogated categories. Why IV is not successful in requesting the lawmakers to bring up an amendment? Is there a single soul (lawmaker) sympathetic to our cause? If money is the only issue, I will donate first and persuade my friends to do the same.
We (me and many of my friends) were once active members right from the early days of IV. We contributed and involved in every IV initiative before. Now we are in the sidelines. I strongly beleive, members like me will be active again once we see any hope. Right now there is none.
We are open to all possibilities in getting relief (big or small) for the community.
You may want to read more about the process of a bill , politics of the immigration issue and how it affects any bill. It is not as simple as one line amendment.
Please get involved with IV and learn more what we are doing. Try getting appointments with your lawmakers and take part in action items. We currently have an action item going. You will know how the process of amendment and bills work. Opening threads asking IV core is not going to help.Help yourself by actively getting involved.
BTW Could you update/complete your profile. This data is helpful for IV advocacy efforts and also for IV tracker.

While filing the forms for 485/EAD/AP and I-693 ( medical report ) i saw a field for A number
Which number must i put in the field

Hello Experts,
I am on H1 and have my labor approved. My spouse is on F1 and we are filing I-140. Would there be a problem?
Because of Retrogression for India we cannot file for I-485 yet.

Dont about worry about your wife now..I140 is yours and you can file it...when you file I485..you attorney will guide you..

Chandu: I disagree with you. I think nobody complained on the website itself. People were unhappy with what it showed. The case status is incomplete and very abstract. I do not think anybody cared about navigation or buttons. Besides, it really they listened to the complaints, they would have fixed many more things before this thing. This would have been the last piece to do especially if they are having lack of workforce.

I was eligible for EB-2 but as company wouldn't file any case in EB-2.
My lawyer suggests the best way to get it faster is to apply for a new EB-2 (fm a new company) and go for consular processing. I am still researching that option.

- Take an infopass appointment at your local immigration office to check her approval status; If it is showing approved you are fine; then you would just need to contact the customer service at USCIS service center to find out where her approval letter is.
- If her case is not approved, apply for EAD and AP if you have not done it already.
Her 485 has been filed FOUR years ago sir.

I didn't find what I am looking for.
I already have a lawyer and the ONLY reason I want to file myself is because I am fed up in chasing lawyers, my company etc. They don't respond in time and anyways I am preparing all my documents my self and guiding lawyer also.
So, I am thinking to file myself.

I understand the 10-day rule, but when does the clock start?
The date of lease starting or the date of actual move.....ideally these shouldnt be too far apart, but in my case they will be, hence the confusion.

Any clue what this soft LUD might be related to ?

I live in the Denver-Colorado Area and myself and lot of my other friends went to the USCIS office at 8AM on a saturday, one before the schduled appointment
They made us wait for about 30 minutes extra, till they could finish the current filers
After that we were called and had our fingerprinting done
I would suggest, go there over the weekend and get it done with
