Peter...
Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. Your suggestion look good and I'm gonna spend the time to look at some of those options :) Hopefully if I have any additional questions, you might be willing to sprinkle some more of that wisdom around :)
Thanks again :)

Your in luck. There are a few in your price range with semi-reasonable shipping:
thanks for your help--unfortunately, i can't get reimbursed for an ebay purchase. so i need to buy from an actual store (not necessarily a bricks-and-mortar store, but an online store would work, also)

I don't care what they change so long as it's user-replaceable, and until then, I will continue to recommend against them to customers. As it stands, it's barely technician-replaceable, as the rubber bottom normally gets torn in opening the thing.

I received a $20 PlatStation Network card the other day and I spent $5 of it on LittleBigPlanet DLC. I'm trying to find a game I would like on the PlayStation store for under $15. What would you guys recommend?

Hi,
Bonus points normally appear straight away. However, you'll need to complete 10 units with at least an 80% success rate before you will start receiving them. (those first 10 units won't ever receive a bonus)
Anyway, congratulations on your first unit. The bonus points will soon start rolling in!

Wow, it's nice of Apple to provide a little explanation there!
Does this mean they might change the appearance more drastically later, instead of just re-enabling Graphite?

I think there is definitely a market that would buy these things, I mean some people do pay $15,000 for a TV right, and I think there are plenty of labs and such that use Apple's and could use a 30" screen. And as far as the current economy goes, this is rumored to be a year or more away so that isnt really an issue either, they also stated that it would have the same resoulion as the 23" one now. The digital lifestyle device is a tough one though, there are so many rumors about PDA's and phones that's it's almost impossible to say.
Personally if it was one of those two I think it would be the phone, Jobs has stated before that PDA's may be ancient and pointless now and "one day you won't even think about using a (cell?) phone without a computer...)

One of my development computers is such Core 2 Duo MacBook @ 2GHz I bought in Feb 2007. I have Snow and SDK 3.2.6 on it and I wonder if its screen is too small for Xcode 4. Is anyone here running latest Xcode on 1280 x 800?

Who gives a rats ass?
Its apparently a great game. Its getting rave reviews. So its a big deal for mac to get an a-list game.
To answer your question, anyone that is a star wars fan or anyone that likes high quality games. Which, last I heard, means a lot of people.
The bigger question is when is it coming out for Mac? Though I'm all for more games on mac, I have to say that I'll probably be finished playing the ps2 version by the time the mac version is released...

Anyone have any suggestions for an external Hard Drive enclosure that uses Firewire 800? I just got a Western Digital 250 gig I need an enclosure for...something to match my 17" Powerbook would be nice. And great stores online with good prices? I've never bought one before...
Thanks in advance!

a 500 dually should be planty fast, although im not sure if those 2 500s act as a 1ghz in osx, or if the application has to be multithreaded
maybe somone could answer thatActs as two 500MHz CPUs, the OS does a decent job of handling the threads in Tiger now.
But most apps aren't really multithreaded, unless you take a look at some of the Pro apps.
Even with BSDs SMPng, people still say there are some problems with the way Tiger handles threads and a ways to go.
But there is a lot to like about OS Xs SMP capability also.
OS X is much better than OS 9, which would basically make use of the machine as a single 500 MHz machine -- except for the apps that make use of the multi-CPU extension for some of their filters and plug-ins.

I cant speak for the porsche, but the LaCie d2 is a great drive. I have a 250GB one w/ FW800 and its great. i've had it for 9-10 months now, and it hasnt frozen or crashed on me or anything. It emits a very light hum, and i rarely hear the drive. the only time it makes a lot of noise is when im capturing video, or scrubbing really quickly in FCP.

The crazy thing is, that unlike the 360 and PS3, Nintendo is making a profit on every Wii they sell. They must be making soooo much money.
I only hope they are investing this into a Xbox live killer. Somehow I doubt it though, and we will be stuck with 80 digit friend codes and lacklustre online support.

Based on reviews, specifications, and recommendations, I think I'm gonna go with the Crucial C300 256GB. It's $474 from Amazon, has decent reviews on there and around the web (that I've seen), and looks like it'll do the job great.
I'm not going to place my order quite yet though - try and talk me out of it! Haha.

Thank you everyone for your comments.
I have the machine sitting next to me now, partially disassembled ready to upgrade but now I do have some more questions....
TO sysiphus
I am a little concerned here that you say it won't be able to do something as simple as streaming a video from Netflix. What is the constraint. This is huge for my because I do tend to watch a lot of streaming Netflix on my primary machine (Which at the moment is a Mini with 2G of Ram hooked to a acer 26" monitor).....
TO Psychomacuser
I found this. Does it help?? M9591LL/A. What is my Max RAM?
