I've been reading a number of comments from a variety of sources since the iPhone runs OSX it is a pocket-size Mac. Applications, Widgets etc will all be written for this device which will all be OSX compatible.

Laptops and desktops, iLife etc. will all be announced in good time. However the iPhone is a revolutionary device. So much so that RIMM and Palm both fell today on the stock market. The iPhone, like the original iPod, have established a new standard.

Windows Server can run Windows XP apps, you think they're the same OS?

Android apps use the same codebase and run on version 2.x and 3.0. 3.0 is clearly a different OS from 2.x


Yes, which is why you can count 3.0 in with the rest of Android.

iphone cant run ipad apps.
Because the iPad has a different resolution so the app has to be programmer for the iPhone. However, universal apps are the same code base with the different resolution and UI information for the appropriate device. So yes, any application can be ran on both devices with minimal changes required.

I don't know what you expect, honestly.

This is what many of us have been suggesting for a while now. Smartphone market share is not the be-all/end-all. iOS usage as a whole is a far more important indicator of what's going on because you don't have traditional carrier lock-ins with the non-phone devices.

so, the thing is, tomatocart has payment modules and i want to charge customers for the "pay on delivery" option, which is not supported, hence i have to edit the module itself.

i quote from TomatoCart's guides:

The payment php files in the �/includes/modules/payment/� are responsible for rendering payment information for customers and handling payment gateway notifications; the files in the �/admin/includes/modules/payment/� contains the configuration options to configure the payment module. And each payment method also have a language resource XML file in the �/includes/languages/LANGUAGE_CODE/ modules/payment/�.

so i basically have to edit the first two files, the one in "admin" and the one in "includes", and then update the language files...

i'm uploading the three files in folders that denote their location in a zip file.

i've edited the "admin" cod (cash on delivery) file and added the following, basically taken from a shipping method, that includes cost details (i'm adding the file in the zip file):

I'm with T-Mobile now. I'm tired of waiting for TMo to get the iPhone so with the merger possibility, I looked into getting an iPhone with ATT. Since the iPhone will probably be upgraded this year, I thought I would get a $20 refurb 3GS with the new contract and upgrade early (probably at full phone price) when the new model comes out. I used the online ATT chat with a rep to make sure this was possible. She swore up and down that the iPhone is the only phone you can't upgrade early so there would be absolutely no way for me to get the new iPhone when it comes out, even if I paid full price for it. Then I see this post that specifically addresses early upgrading and no-commitment pricing. WTF?? Is she just a clueless rep or was she lying to me?

Clueless...

AT&T had a program with the 4's to upgrade early...

Here. I always like the home cloud concept, where you get your own personal server and can transfer data/sync through the cloud. So you own your data instead of trusting it to someone else.

This is what I e been wanting to do for a very long time. Apple just wants to own all your data so they can market and advertise to you.

I'm seeing/hearing the phrase post-PC device/era a bit too often for comfort. I like the iOS devices but for me the Mac is still by far the most important product that Apple make and I hope it continues for a long time to come. I look forward to seeing what they come up with for Maps though.

I just bought a new wireless keyboard from mac a few weeks ago and when i connect it to my imac (10.6) it works perfectly the first time but then each time after the down arrow continually presses down. Does anyone know what could be wrong?
I took it to get checked out and they ran diagnostics on the keyboard but could find nothing so I'm thinking it might be something to do with my computer.
Any help would be great!

thanks for continuing to screw us 3gS owners over Apple...

My phone is on its last leg, dropping calls all of the time, have to charge it 3 times a day. If I had known this, I would have already bought a 4...

Blaming Apple is pointless. If your phone isn't working to your satisfaction, get it repaired or purchase a new phone. 3gS is still working very well as a product, my roommate has one and has no complaints about its functionality, nor do a lot of 3gs users. Anticipating on technology companies to be consistent is a wasted guessing game.

I hardly think that Apple is specifically targeting 3gS users to bend over and get screwed. There is more going on globally this year which tends to affect how companies anticipate product releases.
