The fact that a big sticking point in all of this was the social conservative nonsense about abortions and planned parenthood is just ridiculous. If this is all that many of our politicians can think about in times like these, we're ********** doomed.

I hate the fact Pages always defaults to US English spelling. There seems to be no permanent way to switch to UK English! Arrrgh. No offence to Americans, but there are other people in the world.
Go to system preferences. Open International. Drag British English to be first in the list of languages. If it's not in the list, click the Edit button to add it.

He's very into simplicity and minimalism, just look at the way apple products are designed. I think its a conscious choice to wear a simple black turtleneck and jeans, even though he could easily afford any clothes he wanted.

I'm waiting for the Mark of the Beast = RFID comments to begin.
Serious, there are several segments of the population out there that have objections to this type of technology. I don't know if Apple cares though.
I guess we can already be tracked with the phones we already own?

Our populace is largely ignorant of our own governments history and thus oblivious to the freedoms that would be given up freely by this being included in our phones.
Our government is trying to get rfid included in our licenses and has been met with stiff resistance. Now the sheeple will fall for the "convenience" of rfid in the phone.

Turn down the brightness. The HTC Touch pro could dim the leds. It used a capacitive bottom panel with buttons underneath, similar to the way that the Magic trackpads work. Maybe the whole bezel would be capacitive and the bottom portion would have an indent and a button, where you only go home with a firm press on the panel, and the home button lights up when you run your fingers over it?

Put my pre-order in at Game last night and traded in my Elite & 4 games I'll never be playing again. Plus a Dual Shock 3 controller I was going to replace with the Power A xbox-esque PS3 controller. I was very surprised to see the UK price is �199... which potentially makes it the cheapest price worldwide?

I think to dictate what people should or shouldn't do with their machines is silly. Search the forums and the internet. The Air has proven to be plenty capable as a gaming machine for it's size and has many satisfied users talking about it.
I'm saying that's my personal opinion. I know it's capable of playing games, but many people are disappointed about something that no one knows except maybe Apple or Intel.
A computer is certainly a tool, but it can also be a gaming machine, a home theater pc, an entertainment hub, etc.; whatever a user may find use for it for.
Obviously, certain machines are better and worse at certain functions than others, but don't forget that this generation of MBA, there are people that actually did go out and buy the Air because one of the reasons is that it did happen to be a decent performer in games, while remaining ultra portable. In this case, I think the Air strikes an excellent balance between function and form.

If anything, adding convenience is always a welcome.
If you don't want or need the backlit kb, then you could always turn it off. It's there for people who might need it. Win-win situation.

Huh! Could be interesting so long as only Apple's devices are the hosts and not other devices like Android etc. That would follow the model they are using with AirPlay for audio, so it might make sense.
If that happens though and it is baked into TVs then it almost negates the reason to get an Apple TV box. Maybe this is when Apple would introduce a full on TV set with everything integrated! :D

I'd say they are far worse than Google which people freak out about).
While I'm totally addicted to Facebook I admit, I trust them as far as I can throw my car.

Sounds a bit redundent given my Samsung TV, Sony Bluray, Humax PVR, XBox 360, Windows PC and my macs (with Twonky installed) already all play nicely together without needing a new standard.

Go to a store and I guarantee you can't buy an at&t model, but vzw are in stock everywhere.
There is NO way Vzw is outselling AT&T version, NO way, it's impossible.
My guess is maybe people in the mid-west would PREFER vzw, but they'll never buy one anyway...

If she is as smart as she was cute (building the points here in case she is reading ;) ) then she can go check the member photo directory and recall what I look like, I don't care. I would dare to say that if she finds this really creepy then she probably didn't read the entire thread, because after doing so she should realize that I am just shy and unknowing, not stalkerish and creepy (at least I hope not).
