This is the very reason why I think that Apple's policy should be reconsidered. Why would content providers such as the Financial Times be compelled to offer their content on iOS, when Apple requires them to (additionally) use the in-app purchases by which the providers lose the advantage of using their own register and keeping the entire revenue, without having to share it with Apple. The position of the Financial Times is completely understandable, regardless of what kind of business decisions the provider makes. It still doubt whether the true motive of Apple to enforce this measure is not consumer protection but receiving profits from the content of others.
Why should people who just want to read the news be compelled to provide the FT with personal information in order to do so? Why does the FT need to know my name, address, phone number, etc.?

My 4th Generation 8GB iPod Touch is getting really laggy. Even simply things. Like when I go to scroll through the pre-loaded pictures for my wallpaper, it lags... and same with web pages and sometimes when I type.. It's not a memory issue because I have almost 5GBs free still, and nothing running in the background.

Social Security was originally designed to care for those who lived beyond average life expectancy, which was under 65 at the time. It's logical to raise the age to start taking benefits by a few years. Encouraging smoking and fast food is probably not the best choice.

I have two imacs, (both hooked up to different brand of printer). One uses Word for Mac the other 2011. When i go to page setup under file, there is no "landscape" option under orientation? how come? i have selected "any printer". thanks

Talk pages are now world editable.

I got a chance to shoot a BMW Z4. I'm having a hard time editing the photos as the black just looks "crushed"? I'm not sure how to explain what I'm trying to say but I critique my photos a lot so basically I think this photo sucks but the owner thinks its good.

I get what you're saying. Deep, dark black, with no metallic flake in it is probably very hard to photograph well. It masks a lot of the subtle lines of the car (which a Z4 has a lot of) that would normally show with lighter, more reflective colors. I like the shot, but I do see what you are bugged with.

If you don't know that you can negotiate a better deal when leaving or after you have left, and you rely on giving up your personal info in order to obtain such "benefits," you deserve what you get.

I mean, asking for the skirts to be to their knees, for them to not see midriff, or parts of the breast is totally equivalent to making the wear burkhas. And then there is the audacity to ask for them to not be exposed to butt crack on the beach, simply appalling their curtailing of freedom!Why should it be of any importance to you how anyone else cares to dress?
